Home Furnishings Retailer - HVAC

Replacing internal components of aging HVAC units helped extend their useful life and reduce energy costs.

Value Delivered

USM developed a program to bring aging HVAC equipment up to optimum operating efficiency, helping reduce the energy required to run the units on a daily basis.

Through this program, we helped the client realize approximately $92,000 in energy savings across 100 locations in California, while taking advantage of over $500,000 in utility rebate incentives.

Client Objectives

The client wanted a cost-effective solution that would help them improve the energy efficiency of their existing HVAC system.

Solutions

Our scope of work included replacing and upgrading the internal components of the HVAC units. Then, using third-party technology, we compared energy consumption before the equipment was upgraded and after. A detailed report on the energy and cost savings was provided to the client.

We also identified additional savings for the client by partnering with utility companies and a third-party provider to take advantage of available incentive rebate programs.

Client Background

Our client operates a chain of over 1,100 retail stores offering a wide assortment of domestic merchandise and home furnishings, including food, giftware, health and beauty care items, and infant and toddler merchandise.
